Islamic burial emphasizes humility, dignity, and a return to the earth in a natural and respectful way. It also serves as a reminder of the temporary nature of life and the importance of preparing for the hereafter. Islamic burial arrangements are guided by religious principles that emphasize simplicity, respect for the deceased, and swift burial. According to Islamic tradition, the process should begin as soon as possible after death, ideally within 24 hours.
The Cutchi Jamaat is pleased to propose the provision of bereavement support services for all its members. This support will include the following:
- Assistance in the event of a death at home or in hospital and liaison with the coroner if required to ensure a timely release of the deceased, including any required autopsy, and coordination with the funeral director for the burial.
- Means-tested financial support for the family to help cover funeral costs.
